The Darkness was a video game based on a comic series from Top Cow. It took the standard FPS schtick and added some extra mechanics to give it some new polish. The Ninth Circle of Cast Nerd

This week’s Cast Nerd covers Super Battle Opera, or Tougeki, and the problems that happened this year. There’s also a few corrections to make, since we recorded this earlier in the week before some of the information got out:
1.) It was team Taiwan, not Singapore or China, that was the other part of the controversy.
2.) There were 33 spots for the 32 man tournament. It wasn’t that they only had 31 listed or something like that. It sort of changes things, but not really.
3.) I say in the podcast that it’s easy to just stuff 2 extra teams in, but that’s only if you had a total of 32 teams. If you go up to 34 teams, the bracket gets skewed and is not fair to everyone.

Here is BananaKen’s firsthand account of the entire situation
And here’s the definitive account of the situation by Ryan ‘Fubarduck’ Harvey, who was the translator on behalf of Hsien Chang and BananaKen, on WakeUpSRK

Chrono Cross, which is not only a good game in its own right, has some of the most amazing music to ever be put into a video game. Making it portable just makes it better.
